The Oriol Chair at Miguel Hernández University is launching a programme that brings together literature, art, food culture and local memory. Santiago Posteguillo will open the schedule on 29 October in the evening in Orihuela’s La Lonja auditorium. Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity.

The programme is divided into four strands covering literary, artistic, gastronomic and cultural heritage. It includes an exhibition by the Pintores Solidarios de Alicante collective, public sessions about wine and extra virgin olive oil, and an initiative linked to Miguel Hernández at San Millán de la Cogolla in La Rioja.

The organisers say the programme is intended to strengthen cooperation between the university, Orihuela City Council and the wider public, while making academic knowledge and the city’s cultural identity more accessible.
