Orihuela suspends council events during three days of official mourning

The suspension will run from 00:00 on Thursday 29 October until 24:00 on Saturday 31 October. Flags outside municipal buildings will fly at half-mast as a mark of respect for those affected. The town hall says the decision expresses solidarity with victims, their families and everyone affected by the tragedy.

The measure does not affect meetings of Orihuela’s municipal governing bodies, so the ordinary council meeting scheduled for 29 October will go ahead. Municipal public services will also continue as normal throughout the three-day mourning period.
