Guardamar’s mayor has rejected the graffiti as a form of protest, while the Partido Popular in Guardamar condemned the damage and said residents should not face intimidation. Marc García Manzana, the Generalitat’s director general for coasts, ports and airports, also expressed support for the homeowners and called for investment and coastal regeneration.
The dispute centres on the homes’ coastal concessions, which ended in 2018. The mayor said the town hall wants the coastline to recover its protection, investment and appearance, while recalling that the Ministry chose demolition after technical reports. He added that court proceedings have delayed implementation and that recent decisions allow the Ministry to proceed.
