The project covers 24,490 square metres and is designed to improve access to the stadium with new roads, two roundabouts, wider accessible pavements and a landscaped green corridor. Construction is being carried out by PAVASAL Empresa Constructora S.A.U. at a cost of €3.2 million.
Work has advanced on earthmoving and utility networks along Manuel Martínez Valero Avenue, while paving and tree-pit construction are under way. On José Esquitino Sempere Avenue, earthmoving has been completed along half the route and kerbs are now being installed.
The scheme also includes new lighting, street furniture, parking areas and traffic improvements for match days and major events. Temporary diversions or short closures may be needed, but the organisers say pedestrian access and parking in the usual match-day plots will be maintained as far as possible.
