Five arrested after Guardia Civil raids alleged drug point and cocaine laboratory in Torrevieja
The Guardia Civil has arrested five people in Torrevieja after dismantling an alleged drug-selling point and a home used as a laboratory for preparing narcotics.
The operation, known as MALUKA, is a second phase of an earlier investigation into a criminal organisation allegedly involved in drug trafficking. Police surveillance detected that the activity had resumed after the first intervention.
Officers carried out searches at two homes with support from the Torrevieja Citizen Security Unit and the Guardia Civil canine service in Alicante. They seized more than one thousand euros in cash, quantities of cocaine, marijuana and hashish, and drugs prepared for sale.
The detainees are three women and two men. They are being investigated for alleged drug-trafficking and criminal-organisation offences.
