Man dies after bull-goring at street festival in Arcos de la Frontera
A local man has died after being gored in the chest during the Toro del Barrio Bajo street bull run in Arcos de la Frontera on 24 October.
The man, from the town’s Barriada de la Paz neighbourhood, was seriously injured by a bull named Cumbrerito. He spent 12 days in intensive care before dying. The town’s mayor, Miguel Rodriguez, expressed his condolences to the family.
The event was organised by a local bullfighting club with support from Arcos town hall and had authorisation from the Junta de Andalucía’s office in Cádiz. The Toro del Barrio Bajo was held twice in 2026; the town’s better-known Toro del Aleluya takes place every Easter Sunday.
